Administrative Control Panel


This page will allow you to setup the display and function aspects of the script.

Display Options

Link Order:
Up Down  Alphabetical
This is the order in which to display the links.  Down means that the newest links will be displayed first.  Up means that the oldest links will be displayed first.
 Links per page:
This is the number of links to display on each page.  Set this number to a high amount if you want all the links to be displayed on one page.

 

Link Addition Options

Require Description:
Checking this will require the user to enter a description.
 Require Unique: Checking this will require the user to enter a url that is not already in the database.
Require Email: Checking this will require the user to enter a email address.
Ban HTML: Checking this will keep html from being displayed if a user enters it.
Send Thank You: Checking this will send a email to the user after a link is submitted.  This email can be customized in the "Email Options" section of the admin script.
Send Notice: Checking this will send a email to you when a new link is added to the database.  The email address to send it too can be set in the "System" section of the admin script. --Note:  If you receive a 500 error after enabling this option, make sure you have a email address specified in the System Setup section.  If the error continues, disable this option.
Max Characters In Title:
This is the maximum number of characters that can be entered for the link title.
Max Characters In Description:
This is the maximum number of characters that can be entered for the link description.
Banned Words:
These are the words that will not be allowed to be entered.  Put them one per line.
Banned URLs:
These are URLs that you wish to ban.  It is recommended to just enter the domain name (ex. geocities.com).  Any sites containing that domain will be denied addition to the database.  Separate them one per line.

 

Error Text.

Invalid Category:

This is the error that will be displayed when the user selects a invalid category.
No Description: This is the error that will be displayed when a user doesn't enter a description and you have require description on.
No Title: This is the error that will be displayed when the user doesn't enter a title.
No URL: This is the error that will be displayed when the user doesn't enter a url
No Email:
This will be displayed if the user enters a invalid email address, or doesn't enter anything.
Long Title: This is the error that will be displayed when the user enters a title that is too long.
Long Description: This is the error that will be displayed when the user enters a description that is too long.
Banned URL: This is the error that will be shown when a user enters a url that has been banned from the database.
Banned Word: This is the error that will be displayed when a user enters a word that has been banned.
Duplicate: This is the error that the user will be shown if the url entered is already contained in the database.
Invalid Search: This is the error that will be shown if the user enters a invalid search string.  This is rare, but can happen.  Usually malicious.
No Results: This is the error that will be shown if there are no search results.
No More Links: This is the error that will be shown when the user presses the next link and there are no more links in the category.
No Links: This is the error that will be shown when there are no links in the category.
